Ann E. Kearns, MD PhD is Associate Professor of Medicine, Emeritus, Mayo Clinic Rochester. She obtained her MD at University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and a PhD in Developmental Biology studying cartilage development. After her internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago, she completed fellowship training in Endocrinology at Massachusetts General Hospital. She joined the staff at Mayo Clinic Rochester in 1998 and focused her career on bone and calcium disorders. She also specializes in Quality Improvement and serves on the National Quality Forum chronic disease committee, reviewing quality measures used by CMS, healthcare institutions, and insurers. Her passion is in improving systems of care for patients with osteoporosis.
