A highly dedicated and driven medical specialist with extensive senior level experience and leadership training in health management, responsible conduct of research and research ethics. Enthusiastic and determined team player, with practical experience gained within a variety of settings specifically within haematology and blood transfusion practice. Adept at combining outstanding subject knowledge with a well-developed understanding of patients’ needs. Quick to grasp new ideas and concepts and to develop problem solving plans. I have been involved with several researches many of which have been published in peer review journals especially on sickle cell anaemia and blood transfusion. As both site PI and co-investigator, I have demonstrated a range of clinical course of patients with sickle cell disease and the appropriate use of blood in mitigating many of its complications. While working on most of these projects, I have been able to learn to be a team player and inculcate same to my team members. I have been in collaboration with a number of experts especially as relates to blood transfusion. I am a member of the ASFA SCD research committee where red cell exchange in management of SCD is a central research interest. We are currently involved with implementing step by step haemovigilance system with German collaborators, part of which is to ensure safe blood and blood product support for patients in need of transfusion support. Over 40 publications in peer review journals.
