Sagar B. Dugani, MD, PhD, MPH

Sagar Dugani, MD PhD MPH, is a hospitalist and health disparities researcher in the Division of Hospital Internal Medicine and Division of Health Care Delivery Research at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Dr. Dugani’s research experience spans basic science, translational biology, epidemiology, and public health, from education and work in India, Canada, United Arab Emirates, United States, and as a Consultant to The World Bank, Washington DC. His work focuses on health disparities and chronic diseases, with an emphasis on rural populations and diabetes. He is Principal Investigator of the PEARL clinical trial on post-discharge video-visits and patient outcomes, and leads the Hospital IMPROVE study on patient experience and hospital outcomes. In addition, he is the Division Research Chair and Director of HEXAGON, a research platform for hospital medicine across Mayo Clinic sites in Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. He has published several peer-reviewed publications and served as chief co-editor of four books.
His work is funded by Mayo Clinic and the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities.
