Dr. Taimur Sher is a Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. He is a Consultant in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Florida and serves as the Director of Multi-specialty Amyloidosis Program. He has served as the Co-Chair of the plasma cell malignancy program at the Annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology. As subject matter expert, he has served on several guidelines committees. As a leader in Quality, Experience and Affordability group at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Sher is the Chair of the Mortality Improvement Committee and a member of Clinical Practice Quality Oversight Committee at Mayo Clinic, Florida. He is a member of the Bio-ethics team and a Co-Chair of the Institutional Review Board that provides oversight to over 12000 clinical studies at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Sher graduated from the King Edward Medical College in Pakistan and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami. He completed Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute that included research fellowship in Immune malignancy program and was awarded the Frawley Research Award by the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Sher has published extensively in the field of amyloidosis and plasma cell dyscrasia, healthcare quality, health disparities and bio-ethics.
